Hi Joy,

This recipe looks and sounds delicious. I was wondering how much this recipe yields? Also, I always have a hard time with homemade icecream. When I take it out of the icecream maker its always very soft and after it is put in the freezer for a few hours it always comes out to hard. It's never the consistency of store icecream. It also melts so fast. Why does this happen and can it be fixed? Thank- you :)

So I made the ice cream and IT WAS THE BEST I HAVE EVER TASTED!!!! I blogged about it on my site here: http://funkidivagirl.com/2009/07/cooking-groovy-banana-pudding-ice-cream/ (giving you full credit of course).

One note: you left out "add vanilla" when mixing the ingredients and while that is a no-brainer for you, I didn't add it until I saw it sitting on the counter and had to stop the mixer and add it. In the recipe on my blog, I inserted "vanilla" in the instructions for mixing.

Beautiful blog! I'll be back for more inspiration.

I love your blog and I love that you made a banana pudding ice cream! I'm from Texas and banana pudding was always my favorite dessert growing up. It reminds me of family reunions. I almost never use pre-packaged foods these days but it's hard to resist the siren song of Jello Vanilla pudding and Nilla wafers!

I've never tasted banana pudding, though I can imagine the comfort of it! This ice cream will bring me one step closer, because this sounds irresistable! I like the idea of making ice cream out of food, and I do like food made of bananas... just not bananas alone!

Banana pudding is my favorite "comfort food". I've been trying to come up with a good recipe for a homemade ice cream version. After trying yours, I may have found it.

Not generally a big banana fan unless in the raw and alone, this sounds wonderful. I do love Nilla wafers. They scream childhood.
