New Food for You.
Written by joythebaker on January 7, 2010 – 12:51 am -It’s Thursday which means that… it’s still not Friday.
I say that today you be far more blatant about your disinterest in getting any work done. To help you with this task I’ve got links… links on the Internet… links on the Internet that are bound to help you waste at least a good hour of your day. You game? Let’s play.
See… my Internet starts to look the same day after day. Of course I have to go see what’s cookin’ in ranch life with Ree. Then I jet off to see how Deb and family are doing in New York. Dooce and her crazy self always manage to crack me up… but these are the places that we all go, everyday.
It’s a whole big Internet, friends! That means we have some serious clicking to do.
Here are some new food blogs that are, without a doubt, making the world a more delicious place. Go on… check em out. Every food blog can use a little love… especially the new ones! Say hi! Make friends! Let’s not pretend like you actually wanted to work.
Brunellos Have More Fun. Where there is wine, there is Whitney.
Jamie Oliver is Not My Boyfriend. Um… I already feel like I have something in common with this blog! Jamie Oliver is not my boyfriend either!!
The Noshery. Food. Photography and doggies. I’m in.
Vanilla and Lace. Pretty. Pretty! Pretty!!
Suitable for Consumption. Please pass the Peppermint Patties and no one will get hurt.
Confections of a Serial Baker. Don’t be scared, it’s just cookies.
Sprouted Kitchen. Top knotch. Daaaaang! These photos kill me!
Cooking on the Side. Solid. Please send chili. Thank you.
Natalie’s Killer Cuisine. Natalie, you’re a doll!
Food Goes in Mouth. Thanks Caleb. I was wondering what to do with all this food. Now at least I know where to put it.
Shortbread South. You can make me this breakfast sandwich anytime of day or night. Please, also thank you.
Food for My Family. Big, bright and delicious!
Eating SF. Good food paired with good music. Love!
Good Life Eats. Katie, your Cardamom Citrus Coffee Cake has me mesmorized!
Tastes Better with Friends. Five Minute Chocolate Cake? Ethan will make you a believer.
Let Me Eat Cake. Hi Nastassia! We need to be taco truck friends… for real.
What’s that? I missed your new food blog!? Well I just have to do Part Two next month!

Thanks for the mention joy!
I’ve always enjoyed the passion and cheer you’ve brought to your blog.
Happy New Year Joy! GREAT suggestions but you’re still at the top of my food blog list.
Oh Joy, you kill me! I don’t think my google reader can hold any more food blogs. She’s gonna blow!
But really, thanks for the links. Word of mouth is how you hear about the best blogs, right? I did a similar thing on my food blog a few weeks ago. Thanks!
Hi Joy! I just found your lovely blog, your photos are spectacular. If there’s room for one more tasty blog on your list, wander over to http://www.butterpluscream.blogspot.com to see what Allison and I are up to!
xo,
Mary
I’ve given you a Twitter thanks, now i’m giving you a Joy The Baker thanks! I’m beyond flattered and humbled to have my blog on your wonderul site read by all your amazing readers!
My birthday is next Friday and I already feel like I’ve received the best gift possible! Thanks again Joy!
P.S. I know there are a lot of “!”, but they are all needed!
Check out my blog! I’m a student at the University of Michigan and read yours religiously. I blog for the school newspaper website, The Michigan Daily. I’m new, but would love it if you check it out. It’s a shared page, but my posts have my byline (Jordan Kristopik)!
Hi Joy! I love your blog, and everyone needs an hour vacation in the middle of the workday – especially on a Thursday! Thanks for all the great new additions to my procrastination headquarters I like to call Google reader!
If you do a part 2 next month, I would love for you to check out my blog: it’s very new, and I’m still playing with it, and trying to get it just right, not to mention learning the photography world (my husband just bought me a book for my b-day yesterday and can’t wait to delve into it), but I’m super excited about it, and really needed to find a way to do something that I’m actually good at (cooking) and have a creative outlet (the blog). Come check me out if you get a chance. http://www.thecookingvent.blogspot.com! Thanks for all the wonderful posts!
Thanks for sharing.
Your blog is a huge inspiration for me. I swallow every word and pic. It’s like a feast
Great links! It’s nice to have a little fresh meat now and then.
Good grief, the food blog world is a big place!
Love these links! It’s always so inspiring to look at new blogs!
And I’m going to go the shameful route of plugging my own blog – it’s a lot of sugar and a lot of butter, so I feel like it would be right up your alley
Waist away one hour. I wasted a good part of my afternoon away as my kids napped. Good stuff in these blogs. But the problem is you find a blog you like then you go check out their blogs that they follow and before you know it the afternoon is gone and its time to think about what to make for supper. Oh supper yeah I forgot that part. Opps! LOL
http://doughmesstic.blogspot.com/
Oh here is a food blog I stumbled upon last night that you may enjoy.

You will always be my first and favorite food blog, however there are a couple new ones that I will now read regularly. And FYI – I think your pictures are just as beautiful as Sprouted Kitchen!
Aw, thanks! You’re on my early tour too.
Awesome links – always good to support other food bloggers make it on this crazy vast internet. If you’re taking seconds, check out my blog, southtransplant.wordpress.com. Keep up the good work!
You totally read my mind! I love reading your blog daily and today happens to be one of those days where I’d rather read blogs than do what I “should” be doing. Thank you for sharing these wonderful sites. I have already bookmarked them and am sooo diving into them AFTER I read you, PW, and Bakerella of course.
I LOVE your blog and hope that mine grows up to be just as fun and exciting. If you want to waste some more time, head on over to my new food blog http://ourmostlyhappyhome.blogspot.com/ It is still in it’s infancy, but I have resolved to update it at LEAST every other day.

That’s just great. Now I’ll get no work done at all! These blogs are wonderful and it’s already been hard to pretend I’m working when I’m really stalking a dozen blogs, yours one of them, of course. Thank you for sharing, I didn’t know about some of these
Thanks for all the blog referrals. There are so many great blogs out there just waiting to be discovered.
Joy, I am honoured to be part of these links!!
I simply cannot thank you enough…and thanks to all of your amazing readers who swung by for a visit on my first day!

Stoop! My Google Reader is full! Just kidding. I could read about food all day. And I do!
Thanks so much for putting this list together, Joy – and for including me on it!
Like the sampling, sticking with Joy. My motto for the latter half of 2009 was “Choose Joy”, (BEFORE I found your blog!!.) So I can waste time on the web AND fulfil my goals. You are the rockin’ awesome number one slice of fun blog!! (and loved the eggnog pancakes, by the by!!)
thank you so much for more foodie blog suggestions! i’m always interested in doing more reading (and cooking, and eating…) but have a hard time finding good ones. all of these are perfect! thank you, thank you, thank you!!
You’re so right Joy. You kind of fall into this pattern of visiting the same blogs but it’s definitely worth going out and looking for those hidden gems.
Oh! Not sure what you look for when you’re perusing the web,I’ve just started a blog too and I’d love you to check mine it out even if it doesn’t make ‘THE LIST’
thecuriousbaker.wordpress.com
Hey Joy, thanks for the list! If you’re looking for new blogs, stop by mine sometime. The hardest part for me is taking good pictures. Ever think about putting up some food photography advice – that’d be great!
joy, thank you so much for publishing these. I had “sprouted kitchen” bookmarked until my laptop broke down and took all my bookmarks with him to computer heaven. I couldn’t remember all the blogs I had bookmarked, but was thinking about the one with these great pics. Fearing, it’d be lost forever. now you just present these links and I can finally reunite with sprouted kitchen.
Thanks again!
Hey Joy -
I’d love if you came to check me out!!

Love this post. I enjoyed checking out some new blogs. Great picks. I can’t wait to see your future posts. I love your blog. Mine is Two Peas and Their Pod, http://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com. Take a peak if you want:)
Oh boy… just spent my entire morning reading the story on Ree’s site about how her and her husband met. Then I realized it was already 11, I hadn’t eaten breakfast, and now only had 2 hours to get a whole mornings worth of work done! Then I sat there deciding if I should get to work or finish reading it xD It never ceases to amaze me how fast time flies when you’re in a good read! Thanks for the suggestions even if they’ll get me a little behind in my work, lol.
Is that taffy pic Disneyland taffy?
Joy – your blog sits at the very top of my list. I love following your foodie adventures. Though my own is not as well presented or lush as yours, you can follow my Julie & Julia inspired cooking experiment at http://www.oneyearonecookbook.blogspot.com/. Happy New Year! Lizzie
I hope I don’t lose my day job by reading these wonderful picks!
I’m not the best baker in the world, but I’m learning. You can check out my adventures at http://entertainingbyevie.wordpress.com.
I love discovering new food blogs, and I love it even more when someone discovers for me! Thank you

Hi Joy,
I love your blog and have been a long time reader..
Time for some shameless self promotion. I have a little blog of my own that I’ve just started and would be smitten if you would check it out.
So, we (my girlfriend and I) don’t know nothing about blogging yet, but we love food and drink and fun and all that other good stuff, so we decided to take some photos and finally write down all those recipes that “go to waste” but actually end up in our bellies and make our friends like us and try and stay over so they can get in on breakfast too, and also bring us free vino cause we feed them so good. So yeah, we like your blog and your eats and your Obama cookies and pissing off your dad. And tarts too, definitely tarts…
Hi Joy,
I just started reading your blog recently and am loving it. Thank you so much for putting together this list. We just got over a foot of snow if New York, and I can’t think of a better way to spend a lazy snow day. My friend Joanna and I just started a blog of our own and would love it if you checked it out.
