Oh I didn't know how Tastespotting is gone, how sad! I looked briefly at the alternative sites mentioned in your comments, and while each has its qualities, it was really the layout of Tastespotting that I liked. I did a quick search and found this site which looks similar, no idea though if it will be the same quality in terms of selecting good photos: http://foodgawker.com/

Thanks Joy, Robin and Holly!! Thank you Joy for allowing us to post our thoughts and thank you Robin and Holly for the links to two wonderful sites! And a big thank you to the owners of these sites for stepping up to the plate to give so generously to our passion. My heart is again smiling.

I was so sad! It looks like someone is trying to get a replacement going that looks pretty good at http://foodgawker.com/

Hopefully it can fill the void!

Hello! I started up a blog---Food Porn Daily---in response to Tastespotting's shutdown. I'll be featuring photos of drool-worthy foods daily. I added your site to my reader for considerations... check it out at http://fpdaily.net. Let me know any feedback, I'd love to hear it! :)

I cannot believe this has happened. And I know this may seem a little pathetic, but this almost makes me sick. I just can't believe it. I am 18 years old, and cooking has just recently for the past year and a half been a passion of mine. To find this website was like the light at the end of the tunnel for me. And to have it taken away? Over someone who had the nerve to take away and personally offend me and many others source of passion. This person obviously didn't like cooking if they made this much ruckus and caused the website to shut down. Finding good recipes to cook was so easy with tastespotting, and it really inspired me more and more each day to cook with passion. I have over 200 recipes from tastespotting in my e-mail. And all I can think about is to pray they will bring it back. If they do, it will be harder for people to copyright, or do whatever was done. Maybe this will help, having saved so many recipes, somehow.

TASTESPOTTING - This is what my Saturday mornings were all about. Catch up on email and search for some of the best ideas and recipes to be found. Greatest way to find the best blogs and new people and places. Too bad the lawyers had to destroy something else we all shared. Why is it when there are good things that so many people enjoy that do not harm someone that it must be taken away. For me, I will go back to data mining and locating the recipes and ideas the hard way and remember that someone did a fine job of presentation and sharing of ideas only to be taken away by some scrooge. The only profit I got from using the site was the pleasure of sharing the good things in life....
